Evidence-Based Life Skills Programing

NCCI’s Life Skills Program is a structured 6-session workshop series designed to support individuals and families in building practical skills for everyday success. The program is grounded in Motivational Interviewing (MI)—an evidence-based, client-centered approach that strengthens personal motivation, confidence, and readiness for change.

Using MI techniques, facilitators partner with participants in a respectful, collaborative way—meeting them where they are and helping them identify goals that matter most to them. Rather than telling participants what to do, the program empowers them to recognize their own strengths, overcome barriers, and make meaningful, lasting changes.

What Participants Gain

Through interactive discussions, guided reflection, and real-life applications, participants develop skills to:

  • Increase self-awareness and confidence
  • Strengthen decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Improve stress management and emotional regulation
  • Build healthier routines at home, work, and in relationships
  • Create realistic goals and action plans for long-term stability

Life Skills Workshop Topics Include:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Stress Management
  • Money Management (Part I & II)
  • Housing & Home Management
  • Charting Your Path to Success

Additional topics may include communication skills, time management, work-life balance, and self-care.

Our Life Skills Program supports personal growth, stability, and self-sufficiency by helping participants build the tools—and the confidence—to navigate life’s challenges and opportunities.
